CarpetGeneral® Carpet Defoamer 5814 is a silicone emulsion that has excellent foam knockdown and suppression properties. It effectively controls foam caused by protein soils, soaps and detergents during carpet cleaning operations, especially hot water extraction. It is a non-hazardous, neutral, milky white liquid safe for use on a large variety of carpets. It is non-corrosive to equipment materials, including, polyethylene, polypropylene, PVC, FRP and stainless steel.
Residue that is left behind in a carpet not only causes problems after your carpets have been cleaned, but it can also cause problems while you clean, especially if you are using a bonnet cleaning method. Foam will actually prohibit the bonnet from absorbing the dirt and soil from the carpet fibers. However, by applying a light over spray of CarpetGeneral® Carpet Defoamer 5814 at the proper dilution to the carpet before you clean, it will literally eliminate the foam in the carpet on contact, making the job easier and much more effective.
Whether you need it to reduce foam in the recovery tank of your machine while cleaning, or, to apply to the carpet to reduce the foam in the carpet, CarpetGeneral® Carpet Defoamer 5814 is a superior defoamer product.
Carpet defoamers are used to prevent foam build-up or suppress existing foam during carpet cleaning operations. They are typically used in portables, truck mount units and wet vacuum units. Foam in recovery tanks can cause the tanks to be emptied prematurely. The moisture from the foam will rust and damage the vacuum motor and armature, reducing vacuum performance and significantly shortening the life of your equipment. Defoamers eliminate this problem making the carpet cleaning process easier, faster and much more efficient.
Do not apply directly to carpet. Dilute 1 to 2 ounces of concentrate to 1 gallon of water.
Carpet Extractors: CarpetGeneral® Carpet Defoamer 5814 can be applied directly to the extractor recovery tank walls using a hand sprayer or by pouring 1 to 2 ounces into the end of the extractor vacuum hose with the machine running. For excessive foaming, increase amount of product used. If foaming occurs during cleaning, spray CarpetGeneral® Carpet Defoamer 5814 directly into foam in recovery tank as needed.
NOTE: Avoid spraying on hard or resilient floors as it may cause slipperiness.
Wet Vacuums: Pour CarpetGeneral® Carpet Defoamer 5814 directly in vacuum tank at a ratio of 1/2oz. per gallon capacity or suction directly into vacuum hose.
